Synopsis

One of the best Zorros in the history of cinema, the thrill of pure adventure

Alain Delon is memorable and entertaining in the role of the handsome, charismatic, athletic and brave hero

Duccio Tessari and Alain Delon’s version of Zorro is a colourful, noisy and extremely entertaining adventure. With chases, sword fights and acrobatic stunts aplenty, there is lots of fun to be had before the grand finale, a slashing duel that takes place over steep staircases and shaky beams, an adrenaline-fuelled ballet that is up there with the greatest moments of classic Hollywood cloak and sword cinema. Delon is a memorable Zorro: he has all the necessary charisma required to play the legendary and mysterious hero, as well as the physical prowess, the right degree of ferocity and, when called upon, the perfect comic touch.
The new Governor of Nueva Aragón, who is motivated by a strong sense of social justice, doesn’t even manage to take office before he is killed by an unknown hand. Don Diego De La Vega swears to avenge his death and free the population from the oppression of Colonel Huerta. He pretends to be his dead friend and assumes the role of governor, letting on to be an inept dandy. But when he becomes the masked hero, the bad guys had better watch out.
