And he made an impressive start. For this, his first film, Nuti decided to take up where his previous film, the hit <em>Io, Chiara e lo Scuro<\/em>, left off. But if anybody was expecting another bubbly comedy, they were in for a big surprise. Nuti wrote and directed a film with real artistic merit. As the title suggests, referencing as it does the Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman classic, the film immerses us in the dreamy escapist magic of cinema, with all its smiles, disappointments, melancholies and madness. Perhaps to give us a break from a reality that has run out of dreams.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After having sworn to give up playing pool forever, the end of his relationship with Chiara sees Francesco pick up his cue once more to compete in the World Championship in Casablanca, and challenge the tournament favourite, nicknamed &#8220;Lo Scuro&#8221;. His ex-girlfriend shows up in Casablanca on a concert tour and the flame between them is rekindled.
