One year on from the unexpected box office success of the first Zanna Bianca<\/em>, the sequel was made using primarily the same cast and crew. This time, however, the story isn’t an adaptation of the work of Jack London, although it does try to remain as faithful as possible to the spirit of the original. This second instalment gives even more opportunities for action and adventure, while maintaining intact the pessimistic view of mankind that characterised the previous outing: greed, violence and the harshness of nature are just some of the ingredients that ensure the film is anything but a saccharine fairytale for children. And if it is a fairytale, it’s a dark one. It features breathtaking locations (shot in Canada and Austria) and action sequences that will have you glued to the screen: above all, White Fang’s fight with an eagle, and what is probably the most exciting chase scene on sleds ever filmed.
