Some might say it’s the same old story. Little Tony’s magnificent quiff is as unforgiving as ever. And although it’s true that this time, to overcome the obstacles standing between him and true love, he is forced to kidnap the girl in question, if you want great narrative originality, you had better look elsewhere than the musicarello genre. Here, the only thing that counts is the simplicity of the emotions, at times joyful, at times romantically tumultuous. Together with the singing, of course. That much is obvious. Little Tony is more than willing to demonstrate his marvellous singing talents. But he’s not the only one: there is room for Orietta Berti with the huge international hit Dominique. And a central role is also played by little Walter Brugiolo, who recently won the Zecchino d’Oro children’s song contest with the song Popoff: he sings Zum Zum Zum, from which the film takes its name, the theme song of TV variety show Canzonissima, made famous by Sylvie Vartan and Mina.

In the end, everything works out and the father gives his blessing to the marriage. To make it a double celebration, Tony’s brother wins a singing competition, and the prize money is used to help a seriously ill child.
