Before the film, a theatrical show that made history, first staged the previous year by Garinei and Giovannini, who in so doing invented the Italian musical comedy and achieved a resounding success. This film was the natural consequence of that success: Renato Rascel retains the role of male protagonist after his on-stage triumph. Straight-talking humour, light but by no means banal songs (composed by the great Gorni Kramer), some dancing girls and a delightful story tying it together: all the ingredients are there, for the pure pleasure of whoever still wants to savour them.
