A fresh comedy that was quite a success at the time of its release. It plays on the advantages to be gained by setting a film within an army barracks: the chance to follow the different situations the various soldiers find themselves in, while investing each of them with a different regional characteristic. We are in Naples, but there is the Sicilian who prefers a military career after a bad harvest back home, the Florentine who chases after every skirt he sees until his girlfriend suddenly shows up, the Genoese afflicted by an ancient stinginess. The confident style and ensemble nature of the film benefits by being perfectly cast, and is made all the more wonderful by the presence of singer Fausto Cigliano, who brings his fantastic intrepretation of the Neapolitan melodic tradition to the film.
A series of adventures following the lives of a group of soldiers in Naples, both inside their military barracks and on leave.
