Synopsis

A highly entertaining cloak and dagger: crazy, gothic, sensual and boisterous

It may be based on a novel by Dumas, however we can safely put any claim of literary greatness to one side and concentrate on the rest: it is a garish, gothic cloak and dagger, full of intrigue and with a plentiful supply of blood to be spilt. And it does not hesitate in providing us with a generous dose of female flesh. In short, we have entered into a medieval realm of European exploitation cinema, with all its madness and refined irony.

Captain Buridan, accused of the murder of Queen Margherita’s father, goes to Paris to investigate and clear his name. Meanwhile, the bodies of young noblemen continue to be fished out of the River Seine. Rumour has it the murders are being carried out in a tower renamed “the witch’s castle”…
