Gianni Garko, the legendary Sartana, plays Spirito Santo, an avenger dressed in white with a dove on his shoulder
Works both as an authentic spaghetti western and an entertaining parody
The handsome and dark Gianni Garko passed through the long and glorious history of the Italian western, bringing life to some of its best-loved icons: above all, the legendary and relentless Sartana. In this film, under the guidance of director Giuliano Carmineo, an expert of the genre, he creates a brand new character: Spirito Santo. An avenging angel who enters onto the scene in a highly theatrical manner, who stands out in the dusty West for his immaculately bleached white clothes, and who goes around with a dove on his shoulder. To summarise, behind the serious look, this is a fun parody to be enjoyed.
To get his hands on a mine belonging to a woman, and to conquer a beautiful young Mexican revolutionary, gunslinger Spirito Santo has to go up against General Ubarte, a despot who rules with an iron fist.
