Synopsis

Adapted from a solid crime novel by Luciano Secchi (who, under the pseudonym Max Bunker, will go on to create some of the most beloved characters of Italian comic books, above all Alan Ford and co.), Agenzia Riccardo Finzi effectively introduces strokes of comedy into the mystery plot. Renato Pozzetto, in one of his best performances, brings the unmistakable touch of his perplexed and surreal comedy to his character, supported by the great character actor Enzo Cannavale. Bruno Corbucci ties it all together with an assured hand, digging into the murky world of the Milanese upper middle classes.

Riccardo Finzi, who qualified as a detective through a correspondence course, has moved to Milan. Amongst a sense of general mistrust, he begins to investigate a case that the police have been unable to solve: the murder of a girl he briefly met shortly before her death. The hapless detective will solve the mystery.
