Synopsis

Mario Tessuto’s wonderful hit song becomes a musical comedy, in a mix of rocket science and workers’ riots

Thanks to the extraordinary success of this hit song, which gives the film its title, Mario Tessuto also ends up in the net of the musicarello genre. This time, the obligatory love story full of musical performances is set in the politically tumultuous atmosphere of contemporary Italy. While out driving with her boyfriend in his Mercedes, the restless Lisa, whose poor family has promised her to the wealthy suitor, sees some workers demonstrating for a shorter working week. She urges them to revolt and leaves her stunned fiancé on the spot. When people talk about class struggle… The film also stands out for its Milanese setting and its fascination with science and technology (Tessuto teaches rocket science and performs Lisa dagli occhi blu in a Space Research Centre). It also boasts an excellent cast of comic actors: Peppino De Filippo, who does his “Pappagone” character, Carlo Dapporto, Lino Banfi, Gino Bramieri… And we must not forget Mario Carotenuto as the strict headmaster who cannot stand to have flowers on his desk, as they remind him of hippies.

A freshly graduated young man makes ends meet by teaching. One of his pupils is the lively Lisa. Her family is having some financial difficulties and urges her to get engaged to a wealthy suitor. But as you will see, the heart does as it wishes.
