Synopsis

Lina Wertmüller and Rita Pavone return to take us on another wild ride

From The Beatles to classical musicals, a carousel of song, dance and colour

After the success and innovations of Rita la zanzara, the Wertmüller-Pavone team returns with a sequel that raises the stakes. Non stuzzicate la zanzara takes us on a wild ride through popular culture: The Beatles, classical American musicals, dreamlike surrealism, variety show, liberty art… Musically, the film is also incredibly rich: naturally, it has beat and rock music, but also Charleston, samba, tango, a string trio… Compared to the first film, the narrative progression is more fragmented, however the excellence of this film and the reason why it stands out in the panorama of Italian cinema, is due to the ease with which it juggles precisely such a fusion. A unique and hugely enjoyable carousel ride.

Rita and her teacher have fallen in love and run away from the school. She wants to go to London, whereas he wants to formalise their relationship. As a result of this disagreement, she returns to the house of her father, the strict director of the Swiss Guards Academy. Everyone will be reconciled on the occasion of a big show in Sestriere in the Italian Alps.
