Synopsis

The second chapter in the Pane e amore series confirms all the best expectations and earns itself a prestigious place in the hall of fame of Italian comedies

Gina Lollobrigida, Vittorio De Sica and a host of perfect co-stars, in a film that continues to be adored by audiences

Following the resounding success of Pane, amore e fantasia, this second chapter in the series confirmed the best expectations, continued to bewitch the public, and earned itself a prestigious place in the hall of fame of Italian comedies. The rural setting, the well-constructed characters, the exciting rhythm, the communicative immediacy, and the joy and frivolity of cinema are all here again. And most importantly, the irresistible charm of the characters and the actors who interpret them: Vittorio De Sica’s marshal and Gina Lollobrigida’s “Bersagliera”, naturally, but also the varied and wonderfully assembled cast that became a trademark of the series. There will be another three instalments, but this is the last outing for both Luigi Comencini and Lollobrigida.
