After the success of the film Nessuno mi può giudicare, the sequel arrives in record time. This second instalment is by and large identical to the first one, with a few minor changes. Whereas previously Caterina limited herself to working as a shop assistant and giving moral support to her friend with a few well-placed songs, she has now become a pop star. Not that we ought to be surprised, given her impeccable singing. What is surprising (along with the protagonist’s incredible hats) is the unexpected twist in the love story: of all the men in the world, Caterina ends up falling for the boyfriend of her closest friend. And what’s more, she does so without blinking an eye, something that only a short time earlier would have been unthinkable; a sign of the impending changing times hidden inside this seemingly “innocent” film. Of course, in the end everything works out, but nonetheless the die has been cast. Between one song and the next, and one laugh and the next, a few small tears are shed..
Caterina quits working as a shop assistant in a large department store and becomes a famous singer. She ends up falling in love with her best friend’s boyfriend. However, she puts an end to the relationship to dedicate herself entirely to the stage.
