Synopsis

Timeless beauty in the tradition of the Neapolitan melodrama

The beauty of Neapolitan melodrama challenges the laws of time. Love triumphs after a twisting path of tribulations involving the blind games of destiny, the cruelty of social inequality (noblewoman versus humble teacher), the weight of tragedy that seems to obscure every ray of hope, and the unmistakable emotions of the local musical tradition, all set in an impetuous city incapable of remaining an inert backdrop. Armando Fizzarotti, probably unknown to many, was in fact a maestro of this genre. Presentimento has all the timeless beauty of the Neapolitan melodramatic tradition.

Massimo is in love with teacher Mariella, however the plotting of the Marquise De Angelis leads to the young man marrying her daughter. His humble lover, now pregnant, disappears. For true love to triumph, a lot of water will have to pass under the bridge.
