A second adventure for Tomas Milian’s legendary detective
The recipe continues to work: big laughs and spectacular action
The second instalment in the winning series featuring the legendary detective played by Tomas Milian, another hybrid of detective and comedy proud of its zero levels of sophistication. This time, Detective Giraldi wears bright clothes and exhibits all his best qualities: strongly Rome-centric jokes and spectacular action. The films sees the introduction of Bombolo, who actor Bruno Corbucci seems to have dragged straight in from the street, destined to become a much-loved character. The detective also finds time for some romance with Lilli Carati, dressed in the (skimpy) uniform of a sexy teacher of natural sciences.
The gang of thieves led by Tapparella steals an agenda from a safe, which contains evidence of the crimes of some politicians. He doesn’t know that it belongs to a corrupt CIA agent, who intends to use it to blackmail them. The American has no scruple about killing to get it back, and returns to his homeland. But Detective Nico Giraldi, who has been on his trail for some time, also follows him overseas.
