Synopsis

Investigation number three for Nico Giraldi, the “dirty” detective adored by audiences

Detective Nico Giraldi, the darling of the detective-comedy genre, doesn’t know how to quit: here he is at film number three. The winning formula doesn’t change: our brusque and hilarious hero demonstrates all his intelligence and courage as he throws himself headfirst into adventures full of danger. This time, he is flanked by an English inspector, with whom he repeatedly gets into arguments with over a difference of opinion regarding policing methods. For fans of the series, it’s also an important work as it sees Bombolo become “Venticello” (but this isn’t the place to explain the reason for the character’s nickname), an ex-accomplice of the detective’s when he was still circulating in the criminal world. An affection has remained between the two men: that’s why whenever Giraldi catches him, instead of throwing him into a cell, he slaps him about. This is where it begins, and it will remain a “must-see” for the rest of the series.

An inspector from Lloyds of London asks for help from the Italian Police to investigate an international scam involving Etruria, a company that has disappeared into thin air. The case is assigned to the very “dirty” but equally reliable Detective Nico Giraldi, who will have to travel to America to catch the man responsible: a lawyer who is contesting the election to become the new major of Rome.
